Shaping Your Story: Communicating Efficiently Through Times Of Significant Transition
AbbVie

The healthcare industry continues to evolve with mergers, acquisitions and spinoffs. Communicators play a key role in helping employees navigate those changes. In 2013, AbbVie’s communications team met this challenge head on when AbbVie separated from Abbott Laboratories to become a new biopharmaceutical company.

This session will highlight strategies for communicating during times of transition in your business, ensuring that your leaders, your people managers and your employees are well prepared and engaged in the process, including how to:

  • Build a crescendo of conversations before, during and after “day 1”
  • Use every opportunity and touch point to engage employees and tie their experience to what they were hearing and seeing in external media
  • Leverage branding and communication to build excitement, create a common global experience and define our new company’s culture

Overcome Barriers To Your Internal Communications To Keep Your Brand Advocates Informed And Engaged: Reaching Non-Desk Employees, Managers And More
Lehigh Valley Health Network

Your patients and community experience your brand through your employees, and it is your colleagues who make your organization great. During monumental change in health care, it is more important than ever to keep your colleagues - your brand advocates - informed and engaged. Yet it is becoming increasingly difficult.

More colleagues are joining your growing network every day through mergers and acquisitions. Your CEO cannot reach everyone working at dozens of locations through in-person employee forums anymore. And, clinical and non-desk colleagues are challenged to find time to read and view the communication your team produces. Is it a helpless situation? No. Colleagues experience the network through their managers and rely on them for information. It's time to go to where your colleagues work and push the information they need and want through a systematic communication cascade.

Learn how to simplify your standard communication tactics to complement manager communication and drive colleagues to learn more, including how to:

  • Give visibility to senior leaders and host valuable conversations
  • Support and hardwire your leaders and managers in sharing important network messages
  • Reach and communicate information to non-desk workers

The Acquisition Growth Story: Connecting A Geographically Dispersed Workforce Through Mobile
US Anesthesia Partners & Apprise Mobile

While US Anesthesia Partners (USAP) is only a four-year-old company, they have grown from a single state organization working with several hundred providers, to now having operations in five states with over 2,500 providers and have plans to be in seven states by the end of 2017. With such rapid growth comes its challenges, particularly from a communications standpoint. Some of these challenges include having geographically dispersed employees and facilities, having a workforce where nearly 2/3 of employees don’t have an office as they are scattered throughout various hospital and healthcare facilities, and each of the newly acquired companies have their own communications channels and systems.

As USAP continues to pursue its growth objectives, the company recognized it would need a comprehensive solution that could connect all of its employees, regardless of location or access to a desktop computer, in order to build a cohesive USAP brand, culture and communications channel. To address these challenges, they turned to a mobile app solution that sought to better connect, inform and engage its employees and act as their mobile intranet.

In this informative session, learn how USAP began exploring the use of an app, the key benefits of its utility along with anecdotes and analytics of its performance to date. Upon completion, you’ll leave with practical knowledge and insight, including:

  • Key communications challenges to be aware of that may trigger your organization to look for a mobile solution, particularly for growth companies
  • How the influx of mobile devices in the workplace and the Millennial generation can challenge your traditional communications methods
  • Why establishing a steady drum beat of news is important to your apps success
  • The benefits and utility of a mobile communications app in action
